How to Sharpen Your Ski Edges! 7 Months, 3 Weeks ago
Hey Splat!
I am an old customer of pmgear/bro skis. I had the 188 when they were first released and same for the 186 Lhasa Pow. Got the Lhasa first winter you guys released them. What an amazing ski?

I am at the point when I need to sharpen them. What do you recommend for that? What angle?

1 base and 2 side is the bevel we put on all our skis that seems to work best.

A $350,000 Wintersteiger. We farm our final tunes out to a shop that has one.
There are a number of hand bevel kits on the interweb.

Take a look here:

Phil Ingle pointed out to me that the 2º makes a 55º couloir feel like 57º!

I have been going with 90º ever since to get quicker edge bite.

When you guys say 2º, what kind of terrain do you have in mind? What is your thinking?

And while we're on it, what was the forward mounting position for best ice grip? 2mm?

Check out the Brenva Spur, 5.1, D3, on the right and, on the left, the lines on the N Face of the Aiguille Blanche de Peuterey, 5.3 and up, D3, on Mont Blanc -- might want the edges right for these!
